The STS 20 valve is used as protection against overheating in boilers with manual feeding.

The valve is connected to the so-called cooling circuit, integrated in the boiler with its own temperature sensor, which opens the valve in case of high temperature in the boiler and the cold inlet water cools the boiler so that it cannot overheat.
